Virginia Beach native, Kedrick “Hurricane” Harris will be back on the grind and back on the road as he travels to Spartanburg, South Carolina to be one-half of Friday night’s Main Event at 864 Fighting Championship’s sophomore event.
The Welterweight bout will be Harris’s fourth pro fight, all held within the last six months. Only one of those four have been in the friendly confines of his home Commonwealth of Virginia. Harris’s last two bouts have been in New Jersey and California and saw him split a loss and a win, respectively. So, Harris should not, at all, be affected by the lack of “home cooking”.
The former Spartyka Fight League Middleweight Champion will ply his trade in Spartanburg against local favorite and top Welterweight prospect, Tanner Saraceno. Saraceno boasts a 5-2 record and is coming off a win against another Virginia fighter, Kenny Gaudreau, in his last fight. The majority of Saraceno’s pro victories have come by submission, but Harris has never been submitted, either as an amateur or a pro. The success, for Harris, as a pro has come with his hands, as he scored a big first round knockout in his sole pro victory. Saraceno has been knocked out, so it will be interesting to see which fighter will press their strength in the fight.
At 1-2, Harris has yet to score that signature win, as a pro, as he did in his amateur career by knocking out now undefeated pro, Mitch Aguiar. Friday, February 16th could see that signature win if he can defeat the top rated Pro Welterweight in South Carolina.
864 Fighting Championship: Fight 2 will begin at 6:30 PM on Friday, February 16th, 2018 and will be held at the Spartanburg Marriott in Spartanburg, South Carolina. If unable to make the trip to cheer on Kedrick, 864 TV will be broadcasting the event, via PPV.
