The weigh-ins for Cagezilla FC 2 took place at Hooters, in Chantilly, Virginia, on Friday, May 29th.
Twenty-seven of the thirty expected fighters weighed in, including CFC two division Champion, Scott Noble, who was slated to compete in tomorrow night’s Main Event. Noble, fighting out of Ground Control Academy in Maryland captured the OO Fights Middleweight title back in August of last year and last fought in March of this year at Cagezilla 1, capturing the Cagezilla Light-Heavyweight Title. The two weight class Champion, Noble, was looking to defend his Middleweight title, but will have to keep looking, for an opponent, that is. His opponent, Jonathan Liggans did not make it to the weigh-in. Cagezilla officials stated that Liggans had to be hospitalized due to weight cut difficulties. No further status has been provided on Liggans. Noble, who has had a history of having opponents fall through was visibly frustrated at the news. Attempts at finding a last-minute replacement were also unsuccessful. Noble weighed in at 184.0 pounds, which was one pound under the Middleweight limit.
The new Main Event will be the Featherweight Title fight between Tucker Lutz and Oscar Ramirez. Lutz, also out of Ground Control Academy, is sporting a 7-0 record and will look to remain undefeated as he squares off against fellow undefeated prospect, Oscar Ramirez, of Trident MMA. In addition to his undefeated record, Ramirez carries with him a finish rate of 100%, having submitted all three of his prior opponents.
The Co-Main Event will feature Evolve Academy’s Brent Walter taking on Bowie MMA’s Alvin Amana. The winner of this fight will be award number one contender status in the Cagezilla Welterweight division.
All fighters, but one, made weight and two will weigh in on fight day.
Cagezilla FC 2 will be back at Silver Eagle Group, in Ashburn, Virginia, Saturday May 30th, with the fights beginning at 7:00 PM EST.
