On Tap: Glory Fights presents The Strike Off 2

Glory Fights is back and will be returning to The Palace in Woodbridge, VA for their second Pro/Am event of the year on September 27th. So far, the “Strike Off 2” card is set to be built around 8 amateur fights and 10 pro fights, with fighters coming in from seven different states.

The promotion is still looking for a couple of fighters to round out the card. While still hard at work, they do already have several intriguing fights on tap.

Billy Quarantillo (4-1), fighting out of Tampa, FL, is making his way back to the commonwealth for this event. After a quick submission win over Sandro da Silva in the main event of the Glory Fights inaugural card back in June, he wasted no time and defeated another opponent in a Florida promotion in July. His opponent will be MMA Institute’s Terrell Hobbs (9-6), a seasoned fighter with previous fights under the CFFC and Bellator banners. Hobbs is coming off a loss for the first time in a while, having won seven straight fights prior to that. 

In a battle of namesakes, Maryland’s Myron Baker (3-4) will be fighting Delaware’s Steven Baker (3-8) in a fight not only about last names, but also family. Myron Baker defeated Steven’s brother, Bruce, back at CFFC 22 in March of 2013.

Flyweight standout Samir Farid (3-0), who fights out of Gold Medal Grappling and cross trains at Kaizen MMA, will be facing New York’s Dennis Brown (3-0). With both fighters sporting equal undefeated records, it should be an interesting fight to keep an eye on.

Up and coming pros like Mahmoud Mohagheghrashid, (1-1), Ginseng Du’Jour (1-0), Tony Dabbondanza (1-0), Daniel Yeagley (1-2), and Peter Petties (0-0) which we have covered in articles throughout the year are also slated to have bouts on the card.
